   The child begins to show early
   manifestations of The Power.

   Shep reacts badly to this, looking
   for a way to make the child Normal.

   This cures Gillian of any lingering
   feeling of love for this man who seems        He can't seem to see even the
   blind to magic:                               magic of literature, which he
                                                 treats as just a business.
   Gillian's own power returns.

   She leaves, taking the child with her.

   Shep responds legally, trying to use
   the resources of the straight world
   to restrain them.

   Gillian cuts loose: the most powerful
   witch of the modern era is back, and
   she has stopped restraining herself.

   She conquers the world, creating a
   new world that's safe for the weird.
