They present some history of the Office of
Technology Assessment, which was created in 1972,
but then defunded in 1994 by Ginrich.


They comment approvingly on "The Netherlands
Office of Technology Assessment" for "seeking to
move beyond rely on just on scientific experts".
(Instead it also "incorporates citizen
deliberation".)

They remark that "Audrey Tang's efforts in
vTaiwan aim for a similar form of citizenship        (Always glad to hear
empowerment".  (That's on the bottom of p.259)       about Audrey Tang's
                                                     efforts... a perl/raku
                                                     hacker promoted to
                                                     government tech guru
                                                     status.)
