As I commented in

   MAKER

There's a common element in some different
stories: a god-like figure spends time on Earth
and is humanized in the process:

    They find his personality
    strangely effected by his long
    stay amongst humanity: softened,
    more ethical, less venal..

In 2003 or so I commented in a
discussion about Zelazny's Amber: On alt.gothic.

Yes. Amoral god-like character is imprisioned
on earth for a time, and learns humility in the
    process.

    This is Farmer's premise in
    "The World of Tiers".

And also Gaiman's in the Sandman,
                                                              (Sep 2020)
    Anyway, it certainly
wasn't new with Farmer: Wozniak tells a story like this
about Steve Jobs: Jobs needed to
Marvel's Thor. spend his time in the wildnerness
Doctor Who. before returning to his second
Maybe John Carter? stint at Apple.

I'd figure there's got to be some
       older parallels... the Christ myth?
