    I'm getting really emdash
    happy in my old age.           It used to be I'd just
                                   over-work parentheses     As a teenager,
                                   and ellipses.             I liked the idea
                                                             of multiple nested
                                                             parenthetic
        The cool thing about the                             remarks.
        emdash is that you can
        use it just like an open                                 Then came
        parenthesis, but you                                     the marginal

        remember to close it off.

            And if you're already inside
            a parenthetic remark, it's
            easier to get away with an
            emdash bracket remark when
            you feel the need for another
            level of recursion.

                The emdash: your key to
                sloppy, spontaneous writing.       The colon: your key
                                                   to pretentious (anal
                SUBTERRA                           retentive?) writing.
